Living Room Chronicles

As limited as the possibilities are, I still love to do quick little changes in our living room. I'm limited by the cable location and the fact that our front door opens into the middle of the room, so the changes are always subtle. BUT, really cool vintage chairs and a detachable (and re-attachable) chaise lounge, help to keep things interesting.
The last time I posted about the living room, it looked a bit like this:

I had detached the chaise from our IKEA Kivik sofa and had just found this super adorable vintage chair, so this arrangement sort of highlighted those "new" pieces.

Well, a couple months later, I found the most amazing pair of vintage chairs and I knew that they had to be apart of the living room. The blue chair was moved to Davin's room (which was perfect, by the way), and the new chairs took it's place. I really hate that I never photographed the arrangement, but I did happen to capture it for Instragram.

Yesterday, I was at it again, and now it's looking like this!

I added the sectional back to the sofa. This way, the hubs is a little more inclined to cuddle with me. He had dumped me and sofa time for the extra comfy vintage chairs. Yes, they're that comfortable...and they swivel! I added a few touches of black (and brass!!!) to get things feeling a bit more like fall.

There are a few things I'd like to add. New artwork above the sofa is at the top of the list. I already know what I want, just need to save up a few coins to get it.

So, what do you think? It's definitely my favorite space of the moment.

Master Bedroom Update: Nightstands

So, I mentioned that I was forgoing any office plans to make a few updates in the master. I shared the headboard update on Instagram, so today, I'm sharing a little hardware update for our nightstands.
Pretty much since the day we brought them home, our nightstands have looked like this:

Well, I decided that I wanted to get more of a look like the dressers in this inspiration photo:

I ordered more of these ring pulls from Home Depot and then, virtually, headed to the premier place for ordering hardware of any kind...D. Lawless Hardware...and ordered these babies.

I knew I would need something to cover the holes after rearranging the hardware, and what's more fitting than key hole covers?

Once all of my hardware arrived, I gave the ring pulls a quick coat of Rustoleum's American Accents Metallic Finish in gold. And after I put a few extra holes into my drawer fronts, I was left with this

Yes, it's still just a Malm with new hardware, but I really, really like it! I've been thinking about painting them, but I'm still mulling that over. I'll let you know if anything comes up.

That's two updates down, and quite a few more to go. We are still needing some new linens and I've got to figure out a new treatment for that window. Drapes? Roman shade? I have no clue. Are you making any changes to your sleep space? I'd love to hear all about it!
