Friday Feelings

After this weeks winter mix, the weather today has my hopes high for spring.

Happy Friday, loves, and enjoy your weekend!

Loving: Layered Rugs

The layered rug trend is nothing new, but since I'm in the middle of sprucing up our living room, the idea of adding another layer of color or texture to our floors is sounding more and more appealing.

You may have noticed a theme here. Yeah, I'm all over this layered cowhide look. I'm in the market for one and stumbled across this seller and they have a great selection at amazing prices!!! Oh yeah. They will be hearing from me soon!

So what do you guys think? Are you diggin the layered look?

Tasty Tuesday: Ham Bean Kale Soup

photo via here

This soup is AMAZING! Not only is it super fast to throw together, but it's really high up there on the heathly spectrum!

All you need is:
2 tsp - Olive Oil
1/2 - Yellow Onion
4 - Cloves of Garlic (minced)
2 - 8 oz Packages of Diced Ham (I like this kind)
2 - 16 oz Cans of Navy (or Cannellini beans)
1 - 16 oz Can of Italian Diced Tomatoes
4-6 cups - Chicken Broth
2-3 cups - Kale (stems removed & chopped)

Heat your olive oil and add onion and garlic. Cook until caramelized and fragrant.

Add diced ham and cook for about 5 minutes.

Stir in the beans and tomatoes.

Pour in the chicken broth and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.

Toss in the kale and let simmer for another 5 minutes. Call everyone to the dinner table cause its done!

From start to finish, this soup takes about  20 minutes total to prep and cook. I like to eat mine with Jiffy cornbread (which takes 20 minutes to make), so you can have an entire meal done in no time.

Be sure to try this recipe and let me know what you think! I'm off to eat mine for lunch (it tastes even better the next day!

Pink & Gray

You guys may remember my excitement after bringing in my new chairs and my plans for the living room.

Well, after this post, the pink and gray color combo have been all over my radar!

Love the pink and gray/taupe
I mean, you can't deny the greatness of this combo! The soft, feminine pink with the cool, grounding gray are just a match made in color heaven!

You know I have plans to bring more of this combo to my living room. My new chairs have me off to a great start, but here's what I'm thinking of adding.

A new set of blush pink pillows to adorn my charcoal sofa.

Threshold™ Organic Blanket
This heather gray throw would add another layer of luxury to the sofa.

This print makes me feel feelings I didn't know I had for flamingos. I think that having an over-sized version of this in either an acrylic or gold frame would be perfect.

Are you guys feeling it? I know, maybe not as much as I am, but you can't deny the greatness that is pink and gray! Lol!
